Christmas tree production in containers

Christmas trees in containers are a relatively new crop at the Hans Reinke tree nursery. Significant expansion in available space has made possible an extensive fertilisation trial, conducted by the horticultural centre in Ellerhoop.

Many years ago the Hans Reinke Tree Nursery in Rellingen, in the heart of the Pinneberg arboretum area ceased open field cultivation of shrubs and changed completely to specialising in the production of pot and container plants. Forest and landscape trees were sown in QuickPot trays. The range is also available in bio-degradable, soft-walled containers, through which the roots can grow, for more extreme locations in the forest, for recultivation projects and for the more rapid greening of trees at altitude in silviculture. Furthermore, the company produces a wide range of container-grown hedge plants and shrubs.
