On Thursday 4 October 2018, Keukenhof’s gardeners planted the first bulbs for the flower mosaic Flower Power. This marked the start of the planting of seven million bulbs for the coming year’s display.
Flower Power is Keukenhof’s 2019 theme. In 2019, Keukenhof will have another 50,000 tulip mosaic echoing this theme. The latter has been planted in two layers to extend its flowering during the spring. The mosaic is 250 m2 in size. 50,000 bulbs were used: tulips, grape hyacinths and crocuses.
In 2019 Keukenhof will be open from 21 March - 19 May.
