October 23-25, Madrid

Spain: Flower&Garden Attraction draws top industry players to 1,000 m2 floor

Flower&Garden Attraction, set to be held as part of Fruit Attraction from 23 to 25 October, has confirmed the participation of exhibiting companies from the Autonomous Communities of Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Galicia, Valencia, Murcia, Madrid, Castilla La Mancha and Catalonia, as well as exhibitors from several European countries, including the Netherlands and Denmark. The main garden product manufacturers will also be there.

Purchasing managers from the top domestic and international gardening and DIY centres, and from Spanish and European distribution chains, will also be there.

Some of the gardening centre chains, such as Villa Verde, with more than 80 centres in France, and DIY retailers like Leroy Merlin, will be holding meetings with their national suppliers of flowers, plants and garden products, while making the most of the opportunity for face-to-face contact with international exhibitors.

La Comunidad Verde (Green Community) is a non-profit organisation that brings together the most important associations related to the gardening and landscaping sector, whose goals are the promotion of these activities and making society aware of their benefits. It is actively supporting Flower&Garden Attraction by bringing the companies it works with together and organising a number of especially relevant corporate seminars and business meetings designed to help achieve maximum attendance by industry companies.

La Comunidad Verde is made up of the following organisations:

  • Spanish Association of Garden Centres
  • Association of Park and Garden Care Product Companies
  • Association of Soil and Potting Mix Suppliers
  • Spanish Federation of Gardening Companies
  • Spanish Association of Greenkeepers
  • Business Association for the Protection of Plants
  • National Association of Agricultural, Forestry and Landscaping Machinery
  • The Professional Association of Agricultural Technical Engineers of Central Spain.
  • The Spanish Federation of Associations of Producers and Exporters of Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers and Live Plants (FEPEX)

Furthermore, the institutions included under the La Comunidad Verde umbrella will be informing government representatives and political parties about the "Garden Pact" and the benefits of subscribing to it, with the main purpose being to involve public authorities in the promotion and creation of more green spaces in urban areas.

Flower&Garden Attraction, the new international platform for the professional flower, plant and gardening product sector will be occupying more than 1,000 square metres in Hall 1 at IFEMA.

In addition to the support received by professionals within the sector, the Ministry for Agriculture, Fishing and Food (MAPA) will facilitate the incorporation of the flower and plant sector and help take advantage of the important synergies offered by the Trade Fair.

Flower&Garden Attraction will offer exhibitors maximum exposure within Fruit Attraction as well as significant international and national publicity, as well as the benefit of considerable investment in the International Guest Programme, which will bring over 1,000 retail purchasing managers, importers and wholesalers from all over the world to Madrid as guests. What's more, this year the Fair has designated the Countries of the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, etc.) as guest importers. The presence of representatives from a large number of plant-importing companies, landscapers and construction companies from those countries is already confirmed.

Technical seminars programme
A full programme of technical seminars will transform Flower&Garden Attraction into the centre of knowledge for the sector, with a number of sessions characterised by the great diversity of content and the expertise of the participants and speakers.

The most significant sessions include Urban Land Restoration: Designing Landscaped Areas with Native Plants, organised by La Comunidad Verde; Future Trends for Garden Centres in Europe; The Euro Garden Forum, organised by the AECJ; The Promotion of Superfoods at Points of Sale and Plant and Flower Markets, Auctions and Market Places.
