China: How to effectively stop loss in flower production after a rainstorm?

Recently, the hot weather in Shandong province lasted for nearly a month, followed by heavy rain. And the flowers in Qingzhou experienced the same weather in a short time. As the largest flower production base in the north, how can the Qingzhou flower base effectively stop loss after the flood disaster?

The effect of floods on flowers
After waterlogging, the roots are forced to conduct anaerobic respiration when they are in an anaerobic state, which affects the normal metabolism and growth of the roots. In addition, the accumulation of anaerobic respiration was not conducive to the growth of plants. The above-ground part of the plant showed abnormal leaf color, slow growth and weak growth potential.

After a flood disaster, flower greenhouses are in a high humidity environment, which provides favorable conditions for the mass reproduction and infection of bacteria.

Eggs are transmitted through media such as rain, runoff, wind, etc, and are multiplied and parasitized in large numbers.

The rain wash causes the soil fertility to drain massively. The frequent microbial activity in the soil reduces the amount of beneficial bacteria. Moreover, the permeability of the matrix is deteriorated, the fertility lowered, and the absorption conversion rate not high.

Flood soaking and washing cause plants to fall down, leaf pollution, weakened photosynthesis, reduced resistance and weakened growth, which will be infected by diseases and insect pests.

How to reduce the loss quickly and effectively?
Timely drainage will prevent flowers from soaking for a long time. For some flowers that are tall and will easily fall down, the plants should be timely straightened and set upon simple supports, and the plants with serious pollution should be timely washed and protected.

Frequently open the skylight and vent. In order to prevent germs from breeding, air circulation should be increased to avoid a large number of germs in the shelter. Open the fan frequently in order to reduce humidity in the shed and reduce the occurrence of disease.

Clean the sick and residual plants and soaked materials, tools and tarps in time to prevent secondary infection. Less harmful crops can be taken out of basin soil for drying until the substrate is slightly dry.

Change soil or basin for less harmful crops. When the matrix was reproportioned, perlite, vermiculite or massive peat with larger particle diameter could be added to improve the aeration permeability of the matrix, and some biological organic fertilizer could be applied when stirring, which was beneficial to soil aeration and water permeation.

After proper cleaning, industrial disinfectant can be used to sterilize the whole greenhouse. When using disinfectant, spare no time to do protection and isolation measures, and then promptly disinfect the whole greenhouse, including the floor, seedbed, wall, water curtain, etc.

After the flood, growers should actively control the disease and insect pests.
