Gems Group and Jardines de los Andes form equity partnership

Gems Group and Jardines de los Andes announced a new equity partnership. “This is an exciting move to formalize our strong relationship as ‘grower’ and ‘marketer’, and one that we feel is ideally set for the age before us”, said Carlos Oramas, CEO at Gems Group.

Shared purpose
“We believe the future of our dynamic industry will rely on great products, a seamless supply chain and market agility. We are very happy to have this partnership with Gems, and ready to work on what’s next”, said Sofia Herrera, General Manager, at Jardines de los Andes.

As part of the new agreement, Mr. Oramas will remain as majority partner and continue to lead the Miami-based company.

Founded in 1969 by Bernardo and Camilo Herrera, Jardines de los Andes is a cut-flower grower with over 40 different crops and nearly 400 varieties. The company continues to be family owned and now run by the second generation of Herreras.

Founded in 2003 by Bonnie Armellini and Carlos Oramas, Gems Group is a marketer of consumer-packaged flowers. The company partners with North American retailers and offers a custom line of floral products designed for everyday American life.
