BC Bioenergy Network (BCBN) is looking to make informed decisions about how bioenergy can contribute to realizing the 2030, 2040, and 2050 climate targets for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in B.C. Furthermore, BCBN is interested in the decarbonization of transportation fuels and heat in the province.
To make these decisions, BCBN requires economic, social, environmental, and technological information about the bioenergy sector in B.C., such as: a high-level review of the progress of the B.C. bioenergy sector over the last 10 years; a detailed analysis of current and future bioenergy pathways applicable to the hosting conditions in B.C. including quantifying biomass feedstocks and conducting an analysis for each identified pathway; and a strategic assessment of the opportunities and barriers to expanding the sector.
The final deliverable will be a report which presents this material in an easily accessible format for further analysis.
