Turkey: 2.7 million flowers grown in municipality greenhouses in Muratpasa, Antalya

Muratpasa Municipality Parks and Gardens Directorate has increased the number of ornamental plant and flower varieties grown in their greenhouses to 10 whereas the production volume has reached 2.7 million.

The greenhouses are set up in Ermenek neighborhood of Muratpasa, a province of Antalya. These greenhouses are equipped with fully automated systems imported from Italy and cover around 3.5 hectares. Currently moss rose, sage, garden verbena, celosia, zinnia, marigold and periwinkle are the varieties grown in these greenhouses. 1.4 million flowers are grown for spring and summer to decorate local green areas whereas 1.3 million flowers are grown for winter season.
