NL: Amigo Plant nominated for Agricultural Entrepreneur of the Year

The final five contenders for the title 'Agricultural Entrepreneur of the Year 2017' were announced on March 1st. Among them is one horticultural company, the succulent nursery Amigo Plant from Heerhugowaard, the Netherlands.

Gerard and Miranda van Langen and Koen Beemsterboer

Amigo Plant grows and trades in eighty species of succulents, of which many are their own breed. Innovation is of crucial importance for Gerard van Langen. "More than 35 percent of our turnover we achieve with new breeds and concepts. With innovations we will remain distinctive."

The plants are grown in eight locations around Heerhugowaard, North Holland and at a company in Portugal. Amigo Plant has a total of 90 employees including partner Miranda, three children and fellow entrepreneur Koen Beemsterboer.
