NL: Expansion potential for exclusively-designed bareroot machine

The new and exclusive digging machine especially designed for Rijnbeek & Son last year came close to collecting a Study Group Innovation award recently. The event was held at the Studie Club Boskoop, close to the Rijnbeek & Son nursery.

Arno Rijnbeek said 'We had been talking to Huub Van Gerven for the past two years in order to secure its production. Following the first three months seeing this in action we decided to enter the machine for the Studie Club Innovation award.'

'It was a great evening with lots of people showing great interest in the machine. Both the builder (Huub van Gerven) and myself made a presentation. We didn’t win but it was an ideal opportunity to tell the growers in Boskoop, the financial sector and people from the city about our innovation.'

'The machine has initially been used for bareroot lifting but now we are investigating the potential for also using this equipment for planting.'
