US (VA): Busy times at Woods Farm in Boones Mill

It’s March, which means it’s time for spring planting, and Mark Woods of Woods Farm is growing lots of things in his greenhouses.

"I guess you would call it the Italian herbs. The basils and the parsleys and the cilantros," said Woods. "We have rosemary, creeping Rosemary, sage. Not a huge supply of herbs but a good supply of them."

And, of course, when you think spring, you think flowers.

"Well what we have in this house here are spring planting – your wave petunias, the coleus, your dragon wings, your lantanas – just a mirage of different flowers here," Wood explained.
