The county Gangjin started a long-term plan to support local floricultural industries and raise its competitiveness in the world market by benchmarking the advanced Dutch technology and various distribution channels. On this matter they wish to cooperate with the Dutch embassy and have a strong will to keep their title as No. 1 cut flower producing region in Korea.

The agriculture counsellor and his party visited cut flower farms of peony and hydrangea in the region. The village of peony farms became the largest and occupies 90% of export volume to Japan in the country. Also 28% of the national and 70% of the south Jeolla province of hydrangea cut flowers are produced in this region. These farms are supplied with Dutch varieties.

The vice mayor of Gangjin and the agriculture counsellor agreed to discuss further on win-win cooperative measures.
