Erwin Giezen of MNP Flowers showcasing the new Senetti White. According to Giezen, this is the first white Pericallis variety available with very abundant flowering. It has white flower petals and a purple-blue center and dark leaves. At the IPM 2018, this variety won the 1st prize in the Neuheiten-schaufester contest.

Sundaville Mimi Red if MNP flowers was introduced at the IPM 2018. It is a compact, early flowering variety that is very suitable for smaller pot sizes. “It’s ideal for both, the grower and retailer. The grower can put more plants on a m2 and the retailer can start selling the plants earlier in the season”, says Erwin Giezen.

MNP Flowers added three new Argyranthemums to their Granddaisy series, namely Ruby, Pink Tourmaline and Gold. According to Giezen, Gold is the one that stands out because of the intens golden color. On top of that, it is a compact plant with a lot of flowers.

Ballerina is another novelty of Hassinger Orchideen. It is a 6cm orchid with big flowers. The flower color is pink and yellow and according to Iris Hassinger, this is a difficult combination to achieve.

These Dianthus are bred by Breier and the 30 varieties in the series are divided in four groups; basket, classic, compact and special range. According to Hen, the France and Italy is a big market for Dianthus Divine. In order to provide the market with the right varieties, Cohen conducts the trials at an Italian growers. The Dianthus Divine is available for Europe, UK and Canada.

"Another variety of Danziger that was well represented was Bidens Golden Empire. It has been added to the Bidens Timeless collection earlier, but is still attracting the attention of many, says Shafransky. "It is a bidens, but it does not look like a bidens. On top of that, it thrives in cold temperatures."

The white base and vibrant colour at the tip of the flower makes this variety stand out. According to Benary, Pop Star is the best branching Platycodon on the market and performs a most uniform plant habit. "It is fast and easy to grow." Pop Star loves sunny to half shady places and is flowering from June to August. Pop Star can also be used as an indoor plant."
