PGR University: Focus on annuals
Part 1: Biocontainers and Growth Regulators: Strategies for Effective Control
Chris Currey, Iowa State University
There are several factors that influence plant growth regulator activity, such as plant species and cultivars, active ingredient, growing substrate components, and the environment. Biocontainers are increasing popularity with consumers and producers alike. However, the influence of biocontainer on plant growth regulators is not well-understood. This webinar will share recent research results on how biocontainers affect plant growth regulator applications.
Part 2: Recognizing PGR Overdoses, Other Mimics, and How to Get Back on Track
Brian Whipker, North Carolina State University
PGRs are an integral tool used in floriculture production. Optimal rates help manage plant growth. When rates are excessive, plant growth can be stunted. This presentation will focus on how to identify symptoms of PGR overdose. In addition, other mimics of distorted growth will be discussed. Finally, management tools you have at your disposal to overcome an overdose will be highlighted.
