At Flora Toscana's bouquet making department, they have been working several nights in a row to supply supermarkets. Tonight, they will finalize the supply.

Mimosa for Women's Day only
Flora Toscana is a cooperative in the Italian horticultural sector, and only during this time of the year, they sell mimosa. "We sell boxes of mimosa to wholesalers and bouquets to supermarkets all over the country", says Flora Toscana's Export Sales Manager, Luca Quilici.
Mimosa: Over 25 percent higher sales
Roberto Bonciolini, responsible for the supermarket department of Flora Toscana is very pleased with the demand and production this year. "The weather has been very good for the production of Mimosa. They are mainly in the Sanremo region and mainly outside, so good weather conditions are highly important." In turn, the good weather also resulted in good demand. "The weather has been sunny and I think this results in a good demand as well for Women's Day - so far, we sold over 25 percent more mimosa compared to last year."
Good hopes for Spring
After Women's Day, this cooperative in the Italian horticultural sector will focus on the sale of spring plants, and due to the favorable weather Quilici has good hopes for this segment too. "Currently, due to the sunny weather, we already notice a good demand for spring flowers."
Good start of the year
Actually, when Quilici considers the beginning of this year, he is very pleased overall. "It has been a very good start of the year, with very pleasing Valentine's Day (celebrated on February 14) sales. I think this all had to do with the good and sunny year compared to last year, when it was cold, rainy and snowy."
