Online store delivers from Dutch auction to Russian florist

An online store with flower and plant delivery from the auction directly to florists in every city in Russia and CIS countries. It is the distinction of the new flower startup named Potted. They deliver cut flowers and house plants within 5 to 7 days depending on the location "This means the freshest flowers", says Daria Stefantseva, product manager of Potted. Currently, they are working on their international online store, which will be finished in October.

Daria Stefantseva and her colleague Vasily Kulaev at the FlowersExpo 2019.

"Logistics in Russia is quite complicated", explains Daria. "Flowers are shipped to Russia, mainly to the large cities like Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg etc. Then, the flowers are stored in stock of the wholesale company, often offering florists not the freshest flowers. Then, the florist needs to ship the flowers from the wholesaler to their shops, which will again affect the quality and vase-life of the flowers - and particularly the flowers of the florists that are based far from the large cities."

The aim is to offer the freshest flowers and take the logistic work out off their hands. Several months ago, they did test deliveries picking up the flowers at the auction and bring them directly to florists that are based in different parts of the country. "We are proud to boast flowers that are fresher than you can buy from a local wholesaler or a market, as we obtain our flowers directly from the Holland auction and deliver them straight to your address of choice."

But what about the quantities? "That's another advantage we can offer", says Stefantseva. "We pack in smaller amounts so, our customers with smaller shops can have a wider range to choose from."

At the FlowersExpo Russia, that took place earlier this month, the concept received a lot of interest. Currently, the online store is being finalized and will be online in October. It will be available to all florists and corporate clients in Russia and CIS countries. And next year it will be available in markets in Europe and America.
