Malaysia: No love for roses despite cheaper prices

Demand for roses for Valentine’s Day this year has dropped, according to Ipoh florists, despite lower prices and greater availability compared to last year.

New Foo Choon Florist owner Satchiathanandhan Nadarajah said that he only received about 10 pre-orders for this Valentine’s Day.

“Last year, even though the price had increased following a decrease in supply, I still managed to get around 40 pre-orders ahead of the occasion.

“But this year, the business has been bad so far. I think people are going for a different gift for their loved ones,” he told Malay Mail when met at his shop in UTC.
