Brazil: 25th edition of Hortitec is on

Becoming acquainted with innovations in products, services, tools, machinery and equipment; learning more about new technologies and ways to grow flowers, fruits, vegetables and forestry; looking for solutions to save water or energy and improve the productivity and the quality of the production. These are some of the many reasons why growers and other professionals in the horticulture chain are visiting the 25th Hortitec- Technical Exhibition of Horticulture, Protected Crops and Intensive Crops.

Yesterday (June 20), the commemorative 25th anniversary edition of the event kicked off and continues until Friday, 22 June, at Expoflora Park, in Holambra (SP). Over 400 exhibitors will present their products and services on an area of 30,000 square meter and 30,000 visitors are expected.

Hortitec is especially targeted to agricultural producers and other professionals in the horticulture chain. This creates great opportunities for business. The prospect is for deals worth R $ 100 million to be made; a similar figure to that reached in 2017.

The 25th edition of HORTITEC is serving to present new technologies for the agricultural production sector, which plays a fundamental role in the development of the country's economy, reaching a large part of the population. This sector is responsible for the development of new foods and the creation of trends that may soon reach the tables of Brazilians. Modernization, professional updating and the saving of natural resources, such as water and energy, are also big issues during the fair, as they help increase productivity and product quality, facilitating also the launch of innovations catering to the desires of consumers.

In addition to being a stage to present the sector’s news, the event will also host courses with themes that aim to add value to the day to day of the producers. On 21 June, from 9am to 12pm, Agronomist Luiz Geraldo Santos, of Ensistec Organic Agriculture, will speak on "Biological Management of Pests and Diseases in Tomato Production". On the 22nd, also from 9am to 12pm, "The challenges of Management and Marketing in the Fruit and Veg Sector" will be approached by Prof. Moacir M. Junior, Caio Alcoléa and Thiago Men, all from NGS Brasil Consultoria. The full program is available on the website of the event, hortitec.com.br.
