Hishtil expands edible tubers line

The Israeli young plant propagator and grafter Hishtil increases their edible tubers line with new varieties. In their Sweet Potato line, they have added one new variety and three new varieties of Oxalis tuberosum. Hishtil can supply these edible tuber varieties as young plants or propagation material to growers all over the world.



Sweet Potato 'Bellevue'
The Sweet Potato 'Bellevue' PBR is a new variety in the Sweet Potato range of Hishtil. It has a high yield with an unusually smooth bright copper skin and uniform shape. The flesh of the potato has a bright orange color and has a mild flavor. The growing temperature of the 'Bellevue' is 20 degrees Celsius, it needs medium watering and can be placed in full sun.



Oxalis tuberosum ‘Crimson’ / ‘Gold’ / ‘Crimson & Gold’
Next to the Sweet Potato, Hishtil also introduces three new varieties of Oxalis tuberosum. This plant, also known as Oca, is native to the Andes and very popular in New Zealand. It is a perennial herbaceous plant that overwinters as underground stem tubers. Eaten boiled, baked, fried, or dried, Oca is used as a potato alternative with superb nutritious values. 100 gr. of daily Oca consumption provides you with: 0% fat, 55% of daily Vitamin B value, 66% of daily Vitamin C value, 70% of daily Iron value, and more.
