US (NE): Greenhouse business sees trend due to recent weather
"We've had frost late this year, we've had cold soil where the plants get put in and the soil isn't warm enough so things like cucumbers and the other vine plants rot in the soil cause it's too cold," Chase said.
Chase said the weather pattern we've seen is actually quite normal - it's just in excessive amounts.
"Low temps, a lot of windy weather and we always have that every year - the past few years we've always had that - just not so much of it," Chase said.
Chase said this has pushed back the greenhouse business this year and they aren't seeing the business rush until now.
"We didn't have the big surge when we usually do around mother's day as much this year because it was cold," Chase said.
