AU: Office bearers announced for VFF Horticulture

The next two years of the Victoria Farmers Federation Horticulture Group office bearers have been announced. The bearers were named at the VFF Horticulture Conference.

Yarra Valley flower grower Owen Brinson was re-elected president for a second two-year term. Mr Brinson will spend the next two years lobbying government on key issues important to the horticulture industry.

VFF Horticulture Group member and Mirboo vegetable grower Emma Germano was announced as vice president.

Ms Germano is already a member of the Vegetables Growers Association Executive and is keenly aware of the many issues facing the vegetable and wider horticulture industries.

Emma is currently completing her Nuffield Scholarship looking at export opportunities for the vegetable industry.

Current executive member Peter Cochrane was re-elected for another two years.

Mr Cochrane has been a strong advocate for the horticulture industry during his time on the VFF Horticulture Group Executive and as a past VFF Horticulture Group president.

Bill Bulmer, who was elected last year for a two-year term, said the Horticulture Group Executive was a “strong team” with skills in lobbying, media, networking and governance and had a clear understanding of key horticulture issues within all levels of government.
