Netherlands: VAT increase out of the picture

A major revision of the tax structure in the current government's term of office has been removed from consideration and along with it, the possible rise in VAT.

The government drew this conclusion yesterday (30 June 2015) since it has become clear that the opposition will not support the measures under consideration.

Lucas Vos: "This is great news for the entire horticultural sector. I was very worried about a possible increase in VAT and the disastrous consequences this would have for the entire horticultural chain for bulbs, flowers, plants and trees and all the associated companies. FloraHolland has been an active participant in the discussion in the past period in the interest of the horticultural sector and we shall continue to do so wherever and whenever necessary."
