Large fire at Van der Knaap substrates in Holland

Last night a large fire took place at the production location of van der Knaap substrates in Kwintsheul, the Netherlands. Around midnight the fire started at one of the production halls.

According to a company spokesperson, the fire mainly damaged the buildings, and it looks like the production machinery is still okay. The fire caused no fatal accidents; two persons inhaled smoke and were checked by medical staff, and a third person was transported to the hospital.

Today a specialized company will start with the cleaning of the site. According to a spokesperson of Van der Knaap, the production will be resumed as soon as possible. Another location of Van der Knaap in Aalsmeer is able to take over a part of the production as well.
