UK: Growers compete to be crowned fuchsia champs

The Windsor and Slough Chrysanthemum, Fuchsia and Pelargonium Society held the annual show at Gardeners Hall in St Leonards Road.

President of the society Eric Wiles said: “It is always a colourful affair with plenty of exhibits of a very high standard and this year was no exception.

"The number of plants on display was even slightly up on last year and competition for the trophies was fierce as ever.”

Trophies were presented by society chairman John Baldwin, who travelled from Dorset for the show.

Ray Birt was the most successful entrant of the day, winning 11 trophies.

The following day, some entrants took their displays to the London show.

The society’s next show is the September Evening Show on Tuesday, September 15 at Gardeners Hall.
