US (IA): Greenhouse nearly complete

The Northeast greenhouse project is nearing completion and is anticipated to be ready for use as early as this upcoming school year.

Last week, work began on the greenhouse at Northeast High School. Alicia Christiansen, principal at Northeast High School, said most of the project is completed. The electrical part of the greenhouse is not completed but the hope is they would be back later in the week. They also are planning what they can add to the greenhouse and what kinds of curriculum they want to incorporate into using the greenhouse.

“Mr. Frost was just in today. He’s got some visions for eventually landscaping a little bit better on the exterior and just some thoughts,” Christiansen said. “I know we’re pricing benching right now. Kind of getting numbers on that for the interior side of things. So it went up quick when it started that’s for sure.”
