To expand in global horticultural sector

Netherlands: Van Nifterik sells two departments

Supplier Van Nifterik Holland has reached an agreement in principle for the sale of its tree nursery supplies and fruit supplies departments. The buyer of these two departments is the Van Wesemael, Agro Buren and Agro de Arend corporate group. All employees will retain their jobs. The current team leader of the tree nursery supplies department, Dikkie van Nifterik, will become managing director of a new company: Fruit Support Europe. This company will manage all activities relating to tree support materials, anti-hail structures for the fruit production of the companies named above. All activities of the Van Nifterik Holland tree nursery supply department will be managed by Agro de Arend. Both companies will remain located in Kesteren. The takeover will be worked out further in the coming period. Alex van Nifterik will remain active on a part-time basis when it comes to the company's innovation and export development efforts.

This is an important step for Van Nifterik Holland to better expand its growing activities in the horticultural sector. The worldwide sales of horticultural products have been strongly increasing in the last few years. Since 2010, Van Nifterik has had a subsidiary in China, and has recently increased its production capacity there. The company will be managed by Alex van Nifterik as before.
