US (VA): VHCC Greenhouse call for unwanted plants

The Horticulture Program at Virginia Highlands Community College is seeking donations of unwanted houseplants, potted plants and all outdoor plants that will not survive the winter.

All donated plants will be used for student experiments within VHCC’s Treadwell-Jones Greenhouse and can be dropped off there. Those who donate a plant will be given a coupon to the Spring Plant Sale in May. If the greenhouse is vacant on arrival, put your name and address with the plant and leave it at the door so a coupon can be mailed to you.

The Treadwell-Jones Greenhouse is located on the VHCC Campus, just off Exit 14 in Abingdon. For more, contact Greenhouse Manager Heather Jeffreys at 276-739-2513 or horticulture Instructor Ben Casteel at 276-739-2441.
