2016 FlowersExpo highlight: Open Russian Championship for Florists

The 6th international FlowersExpo trade exhibition is set to take place at Crocus Expo in Moscow 13-15 September, 2016. Last year, FlowersExpo confirmed its role as a reference point for the ornamental horticulture and gardening industry. The exhibition provided its participants and visitors with extensive information about the state, and high potential of the local market, where demand for cut and pot flowers, nursery stock products, seeds, equipment for greenhouses, garden centers, landscape companies and florist shops is growing.

In 2015, FlowersExpo hosted over 400 exhibitors from 23 countries including Russia, the UK, Belarus, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Israel, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kenya, China. Colombia. Lithuania, UAE, Poland, Turkey. Ukraine, Finland, France, Ecuador and Japan.

True to the tradition, fresh cut flowers and pot plants (56%) occupied pride of place followed by nursery stock and landscape products (17%), floristry supplies (14%) and technology (13%).

The 3-day event saw an influx of 15,000 visitors, a number that was considerably up compared to 2014. Over 70 percent of all visitors were professionals including top managers, businessmen, specialists, garden center retailers, landscape architects and florists representing a wide circle of customers from 75 Russian regions and 25 countries.

This year, Russia's leading trade fair for ornamental horticulture once again will host a top notch educational and business programme including conferences, seminars, product launches and floral design shows. Approximately 4,000 people participated in these business events in 2015. One of the 2016 Flowersxpo highlights will be the annual Open Russian Championship for Florists.
