Canada: 2016 IPM workshops for growers

OMAFRA, in conjunction with Flowers Canada (Ontario) and Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, is offering a one-day IPM workshop. The program of educating growers on the use of IPM has been so successful that the majority of Ontario's greenhouse floriculture industry is now using IPM and more specifically biological control as a primary strategy of their IPM programs.

As the use of IPM and biocontrol in the industry has grown, the original function of these programs in educating growers on the "Basics of IPM", has become less critical. Ontario greenhouse growers are now asking questions about IPM and biocontrol that are of much greater complexity, demonstrating the need for educational programs to address these concerns.

The workshop agenda will include:
  1. Greenhouse pest identification
  2. Review of IPM Basics
  3. Strategies for optimizing IPM for insects, mites, and diseases
Workshops include lunch and resource materials.

Cost: $50.00/person

Location: Rittenhouse Hall, Province of Ontario Bldg, Vineland Research & Innovation Centre, Vineland Station, ON
