Netherlands: Bercomex moves to new location

Bercomex is ready to take its next step into the future. New business premises will fit in with the plans for Bercomex in the years to come: the realisation of further growth, internationalisation and professionalisation, together with a continued focus on innovative designs which will support our customers in the even more intelligent processing of flowers. At the beginning of 2017, Bercomex will be relocating to new business premises at Verlengde Lageweg 10 in Hoorn, the Netherlands. The existing office building on the new site is to be modernised, and together with the building of a new production facility, this location will provide exactly what Bercomex needs for the future of the business.

Serving customers better
The new site is not far from Bercomex' current premises, and it will provide all the facilities the company needs to serve its customers even better with innovative solutions for the processing of cut flowers. The new premises will include a completely new production facility with everything they need for the design and production of automated flower processing systems.

Reasons for relocation
This relocation is a logical consequence of the new zoning plans for the current business location, in addition to which Bercomex also feels the need to be able to operate from a more modern business environment. This move means that Bercomex leaves a slightly outdated building behind.

Former residents

The new premises were formerly the home of Elephant Dental, a company specialising in the production of dental ceramics. They will be relocating to Zoetermeer.

New production facility
A new building is to be erected to ensure that the new location is exactly right for Bercomex. A completely new production hall will be built so that Bercomex has access to all the facilities it needs to operate efficiently. Building a new facility means Bercomex can ensure the ideal layout for the production process, with modern facilities for all the assembly operations. In addition to housing a modern warehouse, the new building will also provide the perfect place to develop the growing number of innovative projects that Bercomex is currently working on.

Training facility
The new business premises will also include an up to date training facility, where customers will be able to attend training sessions for new and existing flower processing technology. This will also provide an ideal environment in which to bring customers up to speed about the latest market demands and other developments in ornamental floriculture.

Spare parts desk
As part of the relocation, a new spare parts department will also be set up to provide customers with spare parts and advice.

A step towards the future

A change will take place in the board of Bercomex, effective from 1 February, when Gerben Schouten will become the managing director of Bercomex. Together with all the employees of the business, Gerben is looking forward to the impending relocation: "This move will gives Bercomex the opportunity to serve customers even better by providing the type of customised service that is increasingly demanded by the market."
