FloraHolland: new lid for chrysanthemum box

From 8 February 2016, new lids entered the pool of FC 519 boxes at FloraHolland. The new lids have been modified to provide greater ease of use and a better quality box.

To save money, the two different lids will both be used. The current lids will only be replaced when they no longer meet the quality criteria.

Modifications to the lid
  • No rim at the short end.
  • New type of label patch.
In addition, the new lids have the new Royal FloraHolland logo.

Rim at the short end gone
The most visible modification is the removal of the rim at the short end. It has been removed to make the boxes easier to slide off a stack. The lid no longer hooks to the box below. It also prevents tearing of the short side.

New type of label patch
A new type of label patch has also been placed on the new lids. The label patch ensures that the stickers can be easily removed after use. In practice, the current label patch causes some stickers to detach too soon during processing. By adding dots to the new label patch, the stickers remain firmly affixed and do not fall off spontaneously from the lid.
