"Vietnamese flowers by air into Russia"

Dalat Hasfarm to export flowers to Russia

With direct flights from the coastal city of Cam Ranh (CXR) into more than 10 different Russian cities - from western Moscow to the eastern island of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk - Dalat Hasfarm is exploring new opportunities to bring fresh flowers to Russia.

Traditionally focused on Asia-Pacific markets such a Japan, Taiwan, China, Australia, Dalat Hasfarm has studied the required quality and assortment to fulfill the demand of the Russian customers. Bernhard Schenke, Commercial Director at Dalat Hasfarm, gives the guidelines for future expansion of the export sales: “Russia is the 5th largest importer in the world, so it is important for us to get exposure on this market and we are ready to spend a lot of energy in building-up sales with chosen partners.” A milestone has been marked in the end of 2015 with regular shipments into the cities of Moscow and Krasnoyarsk.

Russian citizens have a different approach to fresh flowers than European or even Asian consumers. Flowers are offered as a gift, or a special event, and not really for own home decoration. Besides national public holidays, high peaks of consumption are Valentine's Day, Women's Day and Teacher's Day.

“We receive regular inquiries from Russian importers, as they are very keen on reducing their lead-time in delivery and on receiving maximum freshness. By sourcing directly at our farms, customers are not only getting the best product, but they also have a guaranteed and stable supply. Our climate is not changing much through the year, so we can ensure year-round supply for all our crops,” says Laurent Mossan, in charge of developing this new market at Dalat Hasfarm®. Operating 3 farms at 3 different altitudes in the high lands of Vietnam (Dalat area), the company grows a wide range of Chrysanthemums (including sprays, standards, Santini's and Calimero's), Lisianthus, Alstroemerias, Roses, Carnations, Green Wicky and Lilies. Other locally grown flowers can be supplied such as Sunflowers, Birds of Paradise and Statice.

Direct flights are available from Cam Ranh, Vietnam (CXR) to: Moscow, Nizhny-Novgorod, Omsk, Perm, Chelyabinsk, Surgut, Tangi, Voronezh, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ufa, Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk, and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

Dalat Hasfarm will also be present at the FlowerExpo in Moscow at stand B-351. This show will be held from 13-15 September 2016.
