EFSA presents extended list

Europe: Xylella fastidiosa found in more plants

The European Food Safety Authority EFSA has expanded the list of host plants on which Xylella fastidiosa has been found. The new list includes 359 plant species - both naturally and experimentally infected host plants - from 204 genera and 75 botanical families. Forty-four new species, two new hybrids, 15 new genera and five new families have been included. Of the new species 70% were identified in Southern Italy (Apulia), Corsica and southern France (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur).
