US (PA): No cannabis flowers at Philadelphia Flower Show
The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show and the booth organized under Green Rush Advisors agreed to part ways amicably for the 2016 show. Robert Rudnitsky and Skip Shuda had been producing the promotional booth with the tagline “Coming Out Green” in conjunction with a coalition of cannabis awareness and educational groups.
“This involved an ongoing and open conversation about what fit within the Flower Show guidelines and what the group wanted to accomplish. The concept was developing in a spirit of transparency and openness,” said Rudnitsky.
The two groups were not able to find a formula that worked for everyone this year. “This was an honest misunderstanding. It involved a rapidly changing conversation and a number of parties. There was no intent to misrepresent or mislead anyone by either party. It simply wasn’t a formula that could work within our guidelines at this time,” said Alan Jaffe, PHS communications director.
Robert Rudnitsky, executive director of a prominent Philadelphia-based organization supporting cannabis reform and a leading advocate in Pennsylvania’s statewide transformation, was the brain-child behind the coalition’s participation in the flower show. Rudnitsky remarked, “It would have been a great opportunity for people to engage in conversation about this important plant. What better place than the Philadelphia Flower Show?”
Skip Shuda, one of the show’s organizers and CEO of Green Rush Advisors, a cannabis education and marketing agency, says, “It would have been an honor to introduce one of mankind’s oldest therapeutic plants at the prestigious Philadelphia Flower Show.”
“We intend to keep the dialogue open and look forward to possible future collaborations,” said booth organizer Robert Rudnitsky. “We’ve developed a lot of great content and expect to continue our mission to educate people about the benefits of cannabis across health, medicine, the economy and society.”
