The bursaries will enable Plant Heritage’s National Collection Holders to continue their work in cultivating and conserving plant life.
Grants were awarded towards the cost of new equipment to aid propagation of National Plant Collections, such as a twin-scaling workstation for the propagation of Narcissus and a storm-proof greenhouse for Banksia propagation. Awards were also made to help with record keeping, such as an A3 scanner to keep capture plant images and fire-proof cabinets.
A number of awards were made to educate and enhance visitor experience to National Plant Collections, including display boards, translation of information and publicity materials. Collection Holders also received funding for provision of services including photography and attendance at research events.

- Linda Heywood – Echium spp., & cvs., from the Macaronesian Islands, Nottinghamshire: Interpretation Boards for National Plant Collection.
- Mr & Mrs Donald – Narcissus -pre 1930 daffodils, Poolewe, Scotland: Twin-scaling workstation for propagation.
- S Bell, Sunnybank Vine Nursery – Vitis vinifera & hybrids (hardy inc dessert & wine), Herefordshire: Attendance at the 9th International Cool Climate Wine Symposium ( ICCWS) in Brighton 26th – 28th May 2016.
- I Scroggy – Hosta, County Antrim: Safeguarding Collection reference files – store all Collection documents in a fire proof filing cabinet.
- J Marshall & S Cook, Iris (Sir Cedric Morris introductions) and Dianthus (Malmaison) and Perpetual Flowering Carnations bred and registered in the UK before 1970, Suffolk: Professional photography of National Plant Collections.
- C Whittaker, Monarda, Pembrokeshire: Translation services to translate publicity materials into Welsh.
- Robert Blackhall-Miles, Banksia South East Australian spp., Gwynedd, Wales: Storm-proof facility for propagation.
