FloraHolland organizes study tour to Turkey

Would you like to discover opportunities and become better acquainted with the Turkish horticultural market? Then FloraHolland invites you to come along with them on a study tour from 17 to 24 April 2016.

The expected improvement in the economy, an increase in consumer purchases, the proposed government investments and the favourable location offer opportunities to increase sales in or via Turkey. The registration deadline for the study tour is 10 April 2016.

The tour takes place from Sunday to Sunday, 17-24 April 2016 (registration deadline April 10), and is intended for members, exporters, improvers, breeders, horticultural suppliers. The cost estimate for this study tour ranges between €1,750 and €2,000.

Preparatory session
In the past few months Royal FloraHolland has collected a lot of information about Turkey, especially the Turkish politics and economics, the local production and markets (including neighbouring ones). Sharing this knowledge during a preparatory session forms the start of the study tour.

Visiting entrepreneurs
Several entrepreneurs will be visited to talk about the opportunities for Royal FloraHolland members and buyers. The new production region for cut flowers in Adana will be visited, as well as the existing production region in Antalya.

Retailers like Bauhaus and Ikea, and the wholesalers supplying these retailers, will be visited as well. They will discuss their vision for the sales of flowers and plants in Turkey. Then a number of florists will be visited, who supply different consumer segments, and the auctions in Istanbul and Antalya, which are important links between growers and florists.
