US (CA): CCGGA looks back on 2015 Annual Meeting

Thirty members and guests attended the Central Coast Greenhouse Growers Annual Meeting held at the Cypress Ridge Pavilion on December 3, 2015. Speaker Lynn Compton, the SLO County 4th District Supervisor, gave a thorough overview of issues in the county and the potential hurdles that Greenhouse Growers will face in the future.



Marty Settevendemie from the San Luis Obispo County Agricultural Department gave an update on various pests threatening the area and discussed the challenges ahead with implementing procedures to regulate cultivation of medical marijuana.

Eugene Glendenning from the CalOSHA Outreach highlighted the services offered through their program and provided information about common citations in the the Greenhouse Industry. John Lindsey, PG&E Meteorologist gave an overview of how an El Nino is predicted. He expected we would get significant rain this year.



Vendor of the Year award
The CCGGA presented their second Vendor of the Year award at this year's meeting and one Vendor of the Month recipient was selected at random. Steve Gonzales from Griley Overnight won the 2015 Vendor of the Year. Steve received a $100 gift certificate and his name will be added to the Vendor of the Year perpetual plaque.
