"NL: "Saintpaulia Bota has longer shelf life"

"We're back," declares John van der Knaap of Kwekerij Mariƫnoord, "to put Saintpaulia in the limelight. We're going to get rid of preconceived notions of it being old-fashioned and having a mediocre shelf life. Our own new variety Bota is a full-flowering Saintpaulia with multiple, small, purple-yellow flowers. Thanks to their size, its shelf life is longer. We're currently introducing Bota, but will release other hip Saintpaulias later."

Robinia from Down Under
"What everyone calls Acacia is actually a Robinia," explain Ron van Opstal and Leo Duyndam of About Plants Zundert. "This is new: a real Acacia, a half sphere that grows up to 70cm tall. It's from Australia and is being introduced by the agency that is introducing our new varieties there. The plant is very caressable but not very hardy. From May on, it's ideal for the patio or deck."
