US: Florida Flower Trials at Walt Disney World nursery

The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival tells the story of how plants get their start. FNGLA, Disney's Horticulture team, Harry P. Leu Gardens and the UF-IFAS extension have teamed up to showcase new flowering plant releases and innovations in the floriculture industry.

Hosted during the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, FNGLA broadens its partnership with Walt Disney World hosting these industry field trials for annuals, perennials and vegetative crops in conjunction with an industry educational conference.

Participant plant beds are planted 6 weeks prior to the conference to allow for ample maturity of the plants. Breeders showcase new colors, textures, pest-resistence and durability. Each variety will be evaluated by Disney's horticulture team and by other industry professionals relative to each site's location. Results are available to industry.

The 2016 conference takes place May 12 & 13 in Orlando.
