Overview of products at the Seasonal Trade Fair

At the Seasonal Trade Fair, many products were on show. FloraHolland has made a small selection.

Rhododendron XXL
ID Flor has got them in 17cm, 19cm, 23cm, 27cm and 29cm pots. "Grew them ourselves", notes Wim Floré. "We used to do so based on color, size and flowering period. Now we take fragrance and foliage vitality into account too."

Wilhelmina
Wilhelmina is a white Overlay Chrysanthemum, bred by Dekker Chrysanten and cultivated by Zentoo. Starting in September, it will only be available in small volumes to start with. If demand turns out to be high, volumes will be increased. "Wilhelmina has a better shelf life and is less susceptible to blemishes," points out Con Kester. "That means it's suitable for distant markets. Wilhelmina is an example of how Zentoo continues to be innovative.

Smell of sweetness
French Geraniums, but packaged in a fragrant pot: this is a concept of Scentsation and implemented by Aparthus. "Hopefully it's a hole in the market," said Nathalie van der Vlist.

Promise
Sales of perennials are difficult when they are not flowering. That is why Forever Plants Group made big labels of Celosia, Angelonia and the Chinese bellflower - in full flower. "But once we start supplying them in Week 16 under the name Florella, they are flowering," says Corné van Winden.

Blooming dreams
The fragrance of Blooming Dreams is wonderful. It is a concept of Alta Nova, Patio Nova and Hoogendoorn involving niche plants. "They often produce a dreamy fragrance," says Jan Bos. These plants are on sale at FloraMondo and PlantConnect as well as in many webshops.

Italian herbs from Belgium
Herbs in 14cm pots, cultivated the Italian way, but originating from Belgium. Antoon de Clerq of Herbachef explains: "We cultivate sustainably, are closer to the market, are Global GAP certified and will soon be completely organic. Customers of Royal FloraHolland are increasingly finding a market for them."

Special packaging
Nepenthes is not new, but the packaging of JM Plants is, making this plant special. The cultivation pot is placed in a kind of coffee cup, providing the plant with extra water during transportation, resulting in a nicer look.

New hype
Special, one-headed hydrangea are arriving at Sjaak van Schie in the Hype series. "Double-flowered, fringed or in special colors," notes Karel Hooijman. "We use the Flower Trials to display special selections. We develop the most promising ones. Even more Hype varieties are coming - for those looking for something different."
