"We think we really have something here that draws attention at the counter," John Grootscholten, owner of plant nursery JoGrow, summarizes the idea of Mcnetics. The concept does look like something you’d quickly grab up at the checkout. And if that something originates from your production area or greenhouse then you can be very happy.
Mcnetics is the name of a concept by which a magnet is attached to the plant pot that can then be fixed to a refrigerator, heater, extractor or any magnetic surface. On the condition, of course, that the plants are not too large or too heavy. But a 5.5 cm size pot is perfect - and this is precisely what JoGrow specializes in. The pots with magnets are readily delivered to the company and transported directly to the customer, wrapped in decorative display boxes.
Much interest
The concept is not completely unique, several parties have employed similar concepts abroad. What's new is that Ubink and JoGrow have replaced ceramics with plastic, which of course is a lot lighter. But most importantly, there seems to be much interest in the concept. John: "Reactions have been great and everyone who sees it is excited. In addition, there’s also interest from outside the chain. So we are currently talking to a major chain that sees a lot in this so, as you can imagine, we are also very excited."
