China is understood to be Australia’s strongest tourism market and last year the number of Chinese visitors to Australia topped one million for the first time.

At an official ceremony on Thursday 14 April, Mr Glenn Fenton, MIFGS Chairman signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shanghai Orisis Landscape Science & Technology Co. Ltd.

The MOU is envisaged to forge stronger interest from Chinese tourists to Melbourne’s world renowned horticulture event.

The signing took place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre, in the presence of The Hon Steven Ciobo MP, Minister for Trade and Investment and the Hon Andrew Robb AO MP, Special Envoy for Trade.

Mr Fenton explained, “What an opportunity has been presented, by the signing of the MOU, as MIFGS aims to increase its international patronage”.
