September 14-16: Rimini Fiera

Italy: Flora Trade Show focuses on town parks

Town parks as places for social aggregation, a means of urban upgrading, and a productive space able to ensure added value to tourism facilities and, therefore, a means for economic development. These aspects are at the basis of the project “I Parchi Urbani” (Town Parks), conceived by Rimini Fiera in collaboration with Studio Grassi Design in the context of Flora Trade Show - Nursery/Floriculture and Landscape Exhibition, being held at Rimini Fiera from September 14th to 16th.

Thanks also to its time slot in September, the expo, which aims at promoting nursery and floriculture production and landscape culture in every form, is a good moment for staging a focus on floriculture and facing the various issues connected with the design of public and private landscaped areas, as well as holding workshops focussed on the protection of the environment.

This is the context that hosts the “Town Parks” area, an exhibition that meets the increasing necessity in Italy and abroad, for town parks to lose their characteristics of purely passive aesthetic passive areas, to become dynamic locations. In the exhibition there will be an interactive route taking trade members through the most highly varied forms of town parks: from the green waterfront areas to parks integrating orchards and vegetable gardens, from the greenery of upgraded of disused industrial areas to historical parks, all integrated by a series of seminars, workshops, tasting sessions and training activities for the various professions. The environment recreated will be able to communicate an innovative multi-form vision of urban greenery, with a perfect combination of exhibition and side events, products and cultural content.

This year, the event, which has obtained the patronages of the Italian Ministry for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, Confagricoltura, CIA, Coldiretti Emilia Romagna, Associazione Nazionale Piante e Fiori d´Italia, Associazione Nazionale Vivaisti Esportatori and Associazione Italiana Centri Giardinaggio, will again be held simultaneously with MacFrut, enabling the entire agriculture chain to be combined in a single marketplace.
