India: Jammu CM urged to make floriculture policy

President of Flower Growers Association Tajinder Singh has demanded immediate intervention of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, for making floriculture policy so that small and marginal farmers who are dependent on Government assistance can benefit.

Singh said that growing flowers and aromatic oil has proved a most lucrative activity of the agriculture sector, which can mitigate the unemployment problem of the state of Jammu. He said presently the scenario of commercial floriculture in the State is grim, where flower growers are facing difficulty with respect to technology interventions, extension, value addition, and marketing infrastructure.
