UK: Banstead lavender fields to feature in Bollywood film

Mayfield Lavender in Banstead is to feature in Azhar - an upcoming film that depicts the rise and fall of Indian cricket hero Mohammad Azharuddin.

It follows Azharuddin’s life from his home to his meteoric rise in the world of cricket - it is due for worldwide release in May.

It is as Mayfield Lavender celebrates its 10 year anniversary this summer.

Owner Lorna Maye said: “We are honoured and delighted that our farm stars in this new movie. It is in fact the second Indian film that has been shot in part here.

"In 2013 the field was used as a backdrop in Malayalam film ‘London Bridge’.”
