"Grow lisianthus in substrates for easier care"

The first thing Lisianthus plants are known for are their beautiful bell-shaped flowers. Unfortunately, the second thing Lisianthus plants are known for is being notoriously difficult to cultivate. For best results, grow the plant from plugs – small seedlings that are well-developed in their growth and purchased in plastic trays – instead of attempting to cultivate them from seed. Due to how finicky this flower is, you may have an easier time caring for Lisianthus plants if you grow them in substrates rather than in soil.

These plants demand a soil pH between 6.5 and 7.0 and serious problems can arise if the pH dips below 6.5. Coir has a natural pH from 6-7 what suits perfectly. Fertilizers rich in calcium are also good for a Lisianthus plant. Optimal daytime temperature is between 20 to 24 degrees Celsius. Optimal nighttime temperature is between 16 to 18 degrees Celsius.
