Plants roll towards the sun

The exact function of it is not clear, but it is a lot of fun to see the garden running on its own. In an aluminium frame are several tables with affixed plants, which can move hydraulically from the inside to the outside. In this way, the balance point of the ball shifts and starts to roll. What really sets it apart is that the movements are controlled by the plants.

Plants have, according to the researchers of the Interactive Architecture Lab, no nervous system as humans or animals have, but are, due to electrical and chemical stimuli, very much capable of reacting to their environment. By connecting these reactions to an 'autonomous robotic ecosystem', the garden rolls from point A to B. In search of better conditions, it rolls for example to a more sunny or more shady spot.
