Tony Awards kick off with 100,000 Colombian roses

First Kim Kardashian and Kanye West incorporated a flower wall into their over-the-top nuptials. Then, two weeks ago, the Obies — an award show for off-Broadway productions — followed suit. Finally, over the weekend, Tony Awards organizers used a flower wall on their star-studded red carpet.

According to Vogue, “Raul Àvila, floral designer for the Met Gala, conceptualized and built a spectacular flower wall [for the Tony Awards] that took nearly 20 hours and 50 crew members to assemble.”

The wall was constructed of about 100,000 red roses donated by PassionRoses in Bogotá, Colombia.
