Pieter Kolk:
"Chameleon hydrangea is a challenge"
In finishing his Bachelor education, Pieter Kolk wrote a report about the hydrangea. After that the step to start a hydrangea nursery was predictable, so they started to introduce the cut hydrangea in his father’s nursery in 1996. In 1998 the nursery at the Oosteinderweg was bought and used for growing cut hydrangeas at 15,000 m3.
They grow hydrangea flowers in many species, colors and appearance forms. In May they start to harvest the straight colors (white, red, blue and everything in between). Later at the end of June, they start with the autumn colors. The last straight colors are cut in November and the last autumn colored in December.
