Smiemans builds greenhouse at Scottish botanical garden

Once again Smiemans Projecten has been given the assignment to build for a botanical garden. This time, the "National Trust for Scotland" asked them to build a propagation facility for Inverewe. Inverewe is one of the most famous gardens in Europe and one of the most visited in Scotland. "The National Trust for Scotland" is a non-profit organization that protects and promotes the natural and cultural heritage of Scotland.

Plant propagation and greenhouse facilities
The propagation facility consists of several buildings and a greenhouse of the Venlo type. This greenhouse includes a potting area, half hardy area and propagation area. This is realized by a specialized fixed and movable cultivating tables with irrigation facilities. It also includes a computer-controlled climate system, which controls the temperature, shading and ventilation for four different zones.

Nursery
For the facilities of the nursery Smiemans will build a number of other structures and technical installations. The project will be built together with the contractor from Forres, AJ engineering. The start will be in September.
