Photos: Lavender harvest in Bulgaria

Bulgaria has overtaken France as the world's biggest producer of lavender oil, The Daily Mail reported in 2014. The Balkan country doubled its production from 60 metric tons in 2011 to an expected 120 tons that year, as other Balkan countries cut production, according to one of the country's top producers.

Now, Malaysian news site Astro Awani has published a photo report showcasing how the lavender is harvested in Bulgaria.
